Writing Center Tutors, Faculty Present at Regional Conference

Members of the Hofstra University Writing Center attended the 2020 Mid-Atlantic Writing Center Association Annual Conference (MAWCA) in March at Towson University in Maryland, where they joined prominent scholars and practitioners from across the region to examine the theme, “Decolonizing Writing Center Practice: A New Vision for a New Decade.”

Hofstra student and faculty tutors gave presentations on a range of topics relating to writing centers and education, including fostering community, Freirean pedagogy, and increasing access to writing support.
