Race, Class and Gender in Childhood Education

School of Education professors Andrea Libresco and Rosebud Elijah, authored a book chapter with Lauren Brown, a graduate of Hofstra’s childhood education program and a teacher in New York City. The chapter entitled, “Embracing a Transformative Curriculum,” was published in It’s Being Done in Social Studies: Race, Class, Gender and Sexuality in the Pre/K-12 Curriculum.

The book, published by Information Age Publishing, Inc. this year, explores the presence of sensitive social topics in childhood education.
