East Setauket eighth-grader Ryan Himmelsbach, two-time champion of the annual Hofstra Long Island Regional Spelling Bee, placed third in the Towson Division of the 2018 North America Spelling Champion Challenge (NASCC) on July 16. Himmelsbach made it as far as the eighth round of the difficult competition.
