Careers in the Geosciences

Christa Farmer, professor of geology, environment and sustainability, is participating in a Zoom event about careers in the geosciences for Hostos Community College on Earth Day 2020 – Wednesday, April 22, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Professor Farmer and the other participating scientists will speak about different career paths students in the geosciences may want to follow. They will also share their own unique academic and professional experiences in the field and offer advice for students.

On Tuesday, April 28, at 4 p.m. she will lead another online event, “Climate Change and Long Island,” for the Longwood Library in Middle Island, NY. She will discuss the fundamental causes of global climate change and survey some of the resulting impacts with a special focus on what they will mean for Long Island.
