Hofstra Day of Giving, April 3

Hofstra will celebrate its annual Day of Giving – a 24-hour, online giving initiative – on Friday, April 3, 2020. Day of Giving encourages alumni, parents/families, faculty/staff, and friends to make a gift to the University that says they stand with Hofstra.

Philanthropic support has enabled the University to provide students with well-rounded experiences and a variety of transformative learning opportunities. Whether supporting scholarships, study abroad programs, research opportunities, or student club activities, giving directly impacts the lives of students at Hofstra.

The Fund for Hofstra helps the University attract the best and brightest students through scholarships and financial aid, expand academic offerings, recruit and support accomplished faculty, and enhance classrooms and other campus facilities. “Hofstra relies heavily on the generosity of its alumni, parents, friends and the entire community to continue to provide the best educational experience,” said Alan Kelly, Vice President for Development and Alumni Affairs. “Day of Giving is a great opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to and investment in a great university.” This year’s Day of Giving will allow donors to support areas of the University that matter to them most. Areas include, but are not limited to academic departments, athletic teams, and student clubs/organizations.

The goal for this year’s Day of Giving is 300 gifts within 24 hours. Students can get involved by spreading the word on their social media channels and/or signing up to be a Day of Giving Ambassador. They can also visit the Day of Giving hub in the Student Center on April 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visit dayofgiving.hofstra.edu for more information about this year’s Day of Giving.
