Celebrating the Blue, Gold and Green

The Black Velvet Band returns to Hofstra's Irish Experience Festival.

Hofstra is celebrating the 22nd year of its annual Irish Festival on Sunday, March 8, 2020, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Mack Physical Education Center, on the University’s North Campus.                                    

The festival celebrates the Irish gifts of music, food and culture to America. There will be music performances throughout the day, as well activities for children, and beverages, food and crafts for sale.

This year’s performers include the Black Velvet Band (11:30 a.m.), followed by the Tommy Mulvihill Band (1 p.m.) and the Donny Golden School of Dance (2:45 p.m.). The Black Velvet Band (3:30 p.m.) and the Hibernian Singers (4:15 p.m.) round out the program. Tony Jackson (WRHU, 88.7FM, Hofstra University) returns as Master of Ceremonies.

Admission is $6 and $5 for adults 65+. Children under 12 are free. Members of the Hofstra community receive one free admission upon presentation of a current HofstraCard.
