November 18, 2019

Dear Students:

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, I am particularly mindful of the many things in life for which I’m grateful.  And among them:

I’m grateful to work here at Hofstra University … with you.  HCLAS students are extraordinary:  thoughtful, intellectually curious and ambitious, kind, passionate and compassionate, and engaged.

Thank YOU for all you do to make everyone at Hofstra proud to be a member of the Pride.  I am proud of YOU.

Because next week is a short week, due to the holiday break, with no events except for the exhibits in our museum and galleries, I will not be sending a weekly message on November 25.  I’ll resume with one last message for the semester on Monday, December 2.

PS we have a lot of music events and a dance concert this coming weekend.  Be sure to get out enjoy the music and the dance: it’s your classmates!  This will be a very special weekend for music and dance for the entire Hofstra Community.

Congratulations to all the HCLAS students who were invited to join Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s most prestigious (and oldest) honor society. Among those who are joining Phi Beta Kappa this fall are:  Martha Morton, Meghan Dube, Kerry Wetter, Aleksandra Radeva, Eloise Santos, and Andrea Bilton.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Fefu and Her Friends.  It was a terrific thought-provoking production: you all did a great job!
