WRHU Rules Radio

Talkers

Radio industry trade magazine Talkers published an in-depth look at Hofstra’s award-winning, student-run campus station WRHU 88.7 FM, which recently won its third Marconi Award from the National Association of Broadcasters as the 2019 college station of the year.

“History has shown us that flukes can happen in award shows, be they at the Grammys, Emmys, Oscars, Golden Globes, or Tonys…On the other hand, when one particular station wins the radio equivalent of those aforementioned statuettes (‘Marconi’) three times in a 2014 – 2019 stretch, it is definitely not an aberration,” the article noted.

WRHU 88.7 FM Radio Hofstra University, with studios in the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication, celebrated its 60th anniversary earlier this year. It was also named the nation’s best college radio station for 2018 by BestColleges.com and by the Princeton Review for 2015 and 2016.
