Helping Hurricane Dorian Victims

Hurricane Dorian Relief Efforts - BahamasStrong

In light of the devastation in the Bahamas from Hurricane Dorian, Hofstra is working with the Consulate General of the Bahamas to collect items for victims. After the category 5 storm descended upon the island just one week ago, Grand Bahama residents have been left without power or running water, while aid has been arriving slowly, according to CNN.

Bins are located in the Student Center, in the hallway behind Starbucks, for donations. Items can also be dropped off at the Office of Student Advocacy and Prevention Awareness located in the Student Center, Room 260, South Campus. Below is a list of requested items:

Baby Formula

Women hygiene kits (tampons, sanitary napkins)

Wet wipes

Diapers

Water Filtration Devices

Water Purification Tablets (available from Amazon and easy to add to your next purchase)

Toiletries (toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste)

Non Perishable Food

Bottled Water

Mosquito Repellent

Large Trash Bags

Batteries

First Aid Kits

First Aid Items (Bandages, Gauze, tape)
