To Infinity and Beyond!

Newsday

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing on July 16, Hofstra’s STEM Summer Program for Girls set off rockets fueled with warm water and Alka-Seltzer, and Newsday was there for the liftoff!

Dr. Amy Catalano, director of Hofstra’s STEM Education Program, and School of Education alumna Alexandra Grabowski ’17, ’18 were interviewed about their work with the children, grades 3-7, who came from local school districts like Uniondale, Roosevelt, Westbury, Herricks and North Shore. Dr. Catalano and Grabowski were assisted by several students pursuing their master’s in Early Childhood & Childhood Education (STEM).

This is the third year that Hofstra has held the STEM Summer Program for Girls.
