The School of Education will be holding its annual doctoral student poster session on research in educational leadership May 1 at 5PM in the Hagedorn Hall lobby.
Twelve third-year doctoral students in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program will present the results of the pilot studies they have conducted for their qualitative research sequence this year. The topics focus on issues of importance to educational leaders in K-12 schools and school districts, as well as in higher education institutions.
For many of the students presenting, this will be the last course they take before moving onto oral exams and the dissertation proposal.
“This poster session is an important milestone for doctoral students in the program,” said Dr. Rebecca Natow, assistant professor of educational leadership and policy in the Department of Specialized Programs in Education. “It gives students an opportunity to present their pilot study research to the Hofstra community, to receive feedback on and answer questions about their work, and to reflect on how their research topics may evolve into dissertation topics.”
