Anthony Santella, DrPH, a professor of public health in the School of Health Professions and Human Services, spoke with Newsday about barriers to dental treatment for low-income children including issues related to transportation and private insurance. He and 20 Hofstra students also volunteered at this year’s Give Kids A Smile event, which provided free dental screenings to 1,200 children from Nassau County.
