Political science professor Richard Himelfarb appeared in a News 12 report that looked at whether Democrat unrest could potentially change the political direction on Long Island. Party leaders are hoping that strong voter turnout will help Democrats take over the majority in the state Senate.
This election will be a “blue wave with a red undertow,” Dr. Himelfarb said. “I think the Kavanaugh [Supreme Court confirmation] affair brought the president’s supporters back to life. Republicans who had been previously unenthusiastic all of a sudden were ignited and are now ‘in’ even more than they were a month ago.”
