Haunted Hofstra Oct. 26-31

Halloween at Hofstra is more haunting than ever before, with spooky, interactive programming from October 26-31, 2018.

From an Open Mic Night and Trick-or-Treat Trivia to costume parties and a celebration of the 200th anniversary of Frankenstein, Hofstra has Halloween covered.

Back by popular demand, the Scary Thrills and Frightful Nights Walking Ghost Tour is sure to be a chilling experience. The tours on October 31 will feature stories and surprises, and will highlight Hofstra’s own ghosts and tales of nearby apparitions. Cider and doughnuts will be served. Tours are free and open to the public, however, advanced registration is required.

Students can also enjoy daylong screenings of some Halloween favorites on the 31st. Films at the “Scarefest” will include:

  • Frankenstein (1931)
  • Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
  • Dracula (1931)
  • Poltergeist (1982)
  • Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016)

Movies will be playing from 11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. in the Guthart Cultural Center Theater. Free popcorn and candy will be available.

The tours and “Scarefest” are co-sponsored by the Office of the ProvostUniversity Relations, and the Long Island Studies Institute.
