Hofstra English Professor and author Kelly McMasters is a guest on PBS’s The Great American Read series. Professor McMasters is the co-editor of This Is the Place: Women Writing About Home. She is the author of Welcome to Shirley: A Memoir from an Atomic Town, the basis for the documentary film The Atomic States of America. Her essays and reviews have appeared in The New York Times, Paris Review Daily, American Scholar, and Newsday, among others. Professor McMasters is a core faculty member in the MFA program and director of publishing studies at Hofstra.
