School of Education Professor Dr. Alan Singer presented a lecture entitled, “Battling Against Metal-Detectors and Criminalization in an Inner-city New York City High School,” with two education students, BA candidate Dennis Morales and PhD candidate Pablo Muriel, at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
The trio presented a second lecture at the New York State Council for the Social Studies in Albany, New York entitled, “Promoting Student Activism as Citizenship Education.”
Additionally, five students in the School of Education contributed papers to the Summer-Fall 2018 issue of Teaching Social Studies, a joint publication of the New York and New Jersey Councils for the Social Studies.
