FORM Presents “The Moon and Her Stars”

Works by Samy DeBellis.

by Ashley Mantrana ’20

The FORM Gallery presents The Moon and Her Stars, a ceramic sculpture show by junior Samy DeBellis, April 16-20. The opening reception is Monday, April 16, at 7 p.m.

“The works are a combination of pottery, and drawings with black pen that were inspired by sacred geometric vectors,” DeBellis said. There are approximately 20 works in the show.

“I love drawing shapes, lines, and angles,” she said. “Every vector is seen in all aspects of life. My art – both drawings and ceramics – is a big part of my life.”

DeBellis is a Speech-Language Hearing Sciences major from Yorktown Heights, NY. She also has a double minor in disability studies and fine arts with a concentration in ceramics. She has interned at The Gramercy School in Manhattan and at Katonah Art Center in Katonah, NY.

The FORM Gallery is located on the first floor of Calkins Hall. For more information, contact the Fine Arts, Design, Art History Department at (516) 463-5474.
