David Frum, senior editor of The Atlantic, media commentator and former speechwriter for President George W. Bush (2001-2002), will give a talk at Hofstra about his newly published book Trumpocracy: The Corruption of the American Republic.
This Hofstra Cultural Center Signature Event will take place Thursday, April 5, 2018, 11 a.m.-12:40 p.m. at the Student Center Theater, Mack Student Center, North Campus.
Frum will explain why he believes President Trump has undermined our most important institutions in ways even the most critical media has missed. Trumpocracy is a warning for democracy and America’s future, he says.
Trumpocracy is Frum’s ninth book. His first book, Dead Right, won praise from William F. Buckley as “the most refreshing intellectual experience in a generation” and from Frank Rich in The New York Times as “the smartest book written from the inside about the American conservative movement.” Frum’s memoir of his service in the George W. Bush administration, The Right Man, was a #1 New York Times bestseller.
This event is free and open to the public. Copies of Trumpocracy will be available for purchase, and Frum will do a signing following the talk.
