School of Education professors Alan Singer and Eustace Thompson have published a chapter entitled, “Battling Zero-Tolerance in Schools and the School-to-Prison Pipeline,” in the 2018 book, Assault on Kids and Teachers.Their chapter (pages 121-141) addresses issues surrounding discipline, zero-tolerance policies and the different ideologies on these school practices.

Publisher Peter Lang states, “Assault on Kids and Teachers is both a call for deeper understandings of anti-democratic and regressive school reform initiatives and an invitation into movements for putting the “public” back into public education.”
