Larry Keigwin ’94 is choreographing an original dance piece titled “The Hunt” for the Fall Dance Concert, which is being performed November 30-December 3 at the Sosnoff Theater at the John Cranford Adams Playhouse. Newsday interviewed Keigwin about his Long Island roots and his experience in the Hofstra dance program.
Keigwin has his own New York City dance company and choreographed the Broadway production of the the Idina Menzel musical If /Then. “The Hunt” is described as an electrifying, high-octane dance that takes a look at the juxtaposition between animal behavior and human behavior. Set to a pulsating score, this athletic dance explores predatory ideas, the chase, and the pursuit of dreams, to highlight similarities between the animal kingdom and the human community.
Keigwin is one of four guest artists working on this semester’s dance concert.
