Hofstra University Spirit Support brought home the gold at the 2017 International Cheer Union (ICU) Pan-American Cheerleading Competition in Cali, Colombia.
“The past few weeks have been long and difficult, but an experience like this makes it all worth it,” said Dance Head Coach Kelly Olsen-Leon. “We left Colombia as a stronger team.”
“This weekend was legendary,” said Cheer Head Coach Christine Farina. “The team delivered a high-energy routine and I’m so proud.”
This is the second time both teams were tapped to represent the United States. In February 2016, Dance was selected to be the U.S. National Team in the International World Dance Competition in Disney, where they took home the gold. And in 2011, Cheer won first place at the International Championship in Paris, France.
