Hofstra University will participate in a national screening of An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power on October 26, 2017.
Part of An Inconvenient Film Series, an Inconvenient Sequel follows former Vice President Al Gore as he travels around the world to influence international climate policy. The film will be shown in room 108 in Axinn Library at 5 p.m., followed by a Q&A with Gore via webcast. E. Christa Farmer, an associate professor in the Department of Geology, Environment, and Sustainability, will introduce the film.
“This screening will hopefully re-focus our attention on the immediate threats that climate change is already bringing to our doorsteps, and spark renewed commitment in taking steps to avert the worst effects,” said Farmer. “By participating in this national event, Hofstra can play an important part in facilitating discussion about the solutions that will be necessary to address global climate change.”
This event is FREE and open to the public. The screening and webcast are hosted by Hofstra’s Sustainability Club and sponsored by the Hofstra University Library and Honors College and the Department of Geology, Environment, and Sustainability.
