Dr. John Bryant, Professor Emeritus of English, will host “Celebrating Melville: Writer for the World” commemorating the 125th anniversary of Herman Melville’s death on Wednesday, September 28, at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
The grave-site program will include readings from Melville’s works and music. Admission is free but tickets are required (tickets will be mailed for receipt 10 days prior to the event).
Dr. Bryant is President of the Melville Society and founding editor of Leviathan: A Journal of Melville Studies. Woodlawn Cemetery is located at Webster Avenue and East 233rd Street in the Bronx.
