The Hofstra University Cheer Team will compete in the Division I category at the 2016 College STUNT National Championship being held on April 28 and 29 in Sacramento, Calif.
STUNT takes the athletic skills of cheerleading – partner stunts, jumps, tumbling and pyramids – and creates a full, hour-long format that challenges teams in head-to-head competition. Thirty-three colleges competed in STUNT’s sixth season, and Hofstra is one of eight finalists headed to the championship. Hofstra Cheer currently holds 10 national and four world titles. Other Division I finalists include the University of Delaware, Oklahoma State University, and Sacramento State.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to be selected to go across the country and compete against the top STUNT teams in the nation. It’s a time for our all-girls team to represent the university in something that’s still considered new. We are looking to do better than we did last year in Oklahoma and bring back a well-deserved title! -Jaclyn Bonlarron ’17
