Honors College Lawrence Herbert School of Communication Standout Student Student Life Television

Standout Student: Courtney Keating

Courtney Keating ’16 is a senior majoring in video/television in Hofstra’s Lawrence Herbert School of Communication. She chose Hofstra because of the school’s impressive state-of-the-art studios, as well as the lush, suburban campus that’s just a stone’s throw from New York City. As a freshman, she immersed herself in Hofstra’s HEAT network, a student-operated college television production organization where she is a stage manager for comedy sketches, sports and news programs. And during her very first semester on campus, she was chosen to work as a production assistant for the 2012 U.S. presidential debate – the second consecutive debate Hofstra hosted. She completed the highly selective Disney College Program in her sophomore year. An Honors College student, Courtney is a member of several communications and academic honor societies, including Lamda Pi Eta, Order of Omega, Zeta Phi Eta, Phi Eta Sigma, as well as the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority. She worked as a production assistant for “America’s Got Talent,” when the show filmed on Long Island, was a production intern for NBC’s “Today” show and is currently a production intern for ABC’s “Live with Kelly & Michael.”
