Dr. Phyllis Zagano Awarded a Fulbright Specialists Project

Dr. Phyllis Zagano, adjunct professor of religion

Dr. Phyllis Zagano, senior research associate-in-residence in the Department of Religion, has been selected for a Fulbright Specialists project in the Republic of Ireland at the Waterford Institute of Technology during Spring 2016.

Dr. Zagano is one of over 400 U.S. faculty and professionals who will travel abroad this year through the Fulbright Specialists Program. She is consulting and assisting in the continued development of new and existing graduate and undergraduate programs in religion and spirituality both at the institute and at recently initiated collaborating partners: Spirituality Institute for Research and Education (SpIRE) and the Romero Institute of Peace and Justice (Mount Sion Edmund Rice Heritage Centre, Waterford).

The Fulbright Specialists Program, created in 2000 to complement the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program, provides short-term academic opportunities (two to six weeks) to prominent U.S. faculty and professionals to support curricular and faculty development and institutional planning at post secondary, academic institutions around the world.
