Hofstra University’s student FORM Gallery will present “exi(s)t”, a show combining live performance art with 20 original oil paintings by senior dance major Mary-Kate O’Toole of Hicksville, NY.
“exi(s)t” will be on display through February 14-20, with two live modern dance performances, one prior to the show’s opening on Friday, February 12, at 7 p.m. and the second on Tuesday, February 16, at 5 p.m.
O’Toole says she is inspired by process, effort, curiosity, fear and acceptance and created “exi(s)t” to question the importance of human existence. After graduation, she will continue to combine diverse art forms while pursuing her dream, a career as a professional modern dancer.
The FORM Gallery is located on the first floor of Calkins Hall, South Campus. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information call the Department of Fine Arts, Design, Art History at 516-463-5474.
