University Closed Sun. Jan. 24

Hofstra University will be closed Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016 due to heavy snow and blizzard conditions across the New York metropolitan area.

All non-athletic events and all classes are cancelled. The men’s and women’s basketball games — a doubleheader set to begin at noon on Sunday — will be played as scheduled. A wrestling match on Sunday at 1 p.m. will also go on as scheduled.

Axinn library will be closed, but the Fitness Center, the main Student Center Dining Hall and Dutch Treats will be open for regular hours. Residence halls will be open students returning from Winter Break.

To facilitate snow removal, the University is asking students living in the Towers, Netherlands or Nassau/Suffolk to park in lot 7 (near the Graduate Residence Hall). Students living in Colonial Square should park in fields 6C and 6D.

Spring semester classes will begin on Monday, Jan. 25 as scheduled. For more information, or any updates, visit the University’s snow update page.
