Hofstra University has been named to the 2016 Military Friendly School List, which recognizes top colleges and universities for exhibiting leading practices in recruiting and supporting post-military students. This is the third consecutive year Hofstra has made the list.
The 2016 list of Military Friendly Schools, compiled by Victory Media and in its seventh year, is a data-driven survey of more than 10,000 schools nationwide approved for post-9/11 GI Bill funding. The survey scores institutions in several categories, including military support on campus, veteran graduation rates, program flexibility for military students and military spouse policies.
“Post-secondary institutions earning the 2016 Military Friendly School award have exceptionally strong programs for transitioning service members and spouses,” said Daniel Nichols, Chief Product Officer of Victory Media and Navy Reserve veteran. “Our Military Friendly Schools are truly aligning their military programs and services with employers to help students translate military experience, skills and training into successful careers after graduation.”
The survey results that comprise the 2016 list were independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP, based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media.
