For a second year in a row, Hofstra University is one of the top 50 most entrepreneurial research universities in the nation, according to Forbes magazine’s 2015 rankings. Hofstra ranked #34, up two spots from #36 on last year’s list.
The rankings represent the total number of Hofstra alumni and students on LinkedIn divided by those who say they are founders or business owners. Hofstra was one of just five universities in New York state to make the list. Cornell, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and New York University made the top 20, while Syracuse was #41. Stanford University in California’s Silicon Valley was number one again this year.
Hofstra’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business’ Department of Management and Entrepreneurship offers a major and minor in entrepreneurship, and the School of Engineering and Applied Science offers a concentration in leadership and innovation in both computer science and computer engineering.
