Mu Kappa, the Geography Honor Society, Welcomes New Members

Global Studies and Geography

Eleven students were inducted into the Mu Kappa Chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU) during a ceremony held at the Hofstra University Club on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. GTU is the international honor society for students studying geography.

The induction was attended by both new and old members of Mu Kappa, as well as faculty members from the Department of Global Studies and Geography. Special guest Valerie J. Rizzuto, assistant instructor of Global Studies and Geography, gave a keynote speech highlighting her lifelong love of geography, her academic career, and the importance of geography as a discipline. Adjunct Assistant Professor Veronica A. Lippencott and Department Chair Grant Saff serve as president and vice president, respectively, of the Hofstra chapter of GTU.
