The Center for Civic Engagement will celebrate Earth Day on Wed., April 22 with an outdoor festival aimed at promoting environmental awareness both on and off campus.
The festival will feature musical performances, interactive activities, and tabling, and will be held in Calkins Quad, South Campus, during Common Hour (11:15 AM – 12:45 PM). In case of rain, the event will move to the Student Center Multipurpose Room.
Hofstra University is known for its stance on sustainability, having been ranked one of the most environmentally responsible colleges in the U.S. and Canada, according to The Princeton Review’s 2014 Guide to 332 Green Colleges. The guide highlights Hofstra’s environmental stewardship, natural beauty and “total immersion” sustainability studies program.
The Earth Day festival is presented in collaboration with Students for a Greener Hofstra. The event is free and open to the public.
