Invisible Wars: Indigenous Religion, Resistance, and Dissent in Colonial Mexico

Hofstra University’s Cultural Center presents “Invisible Wars: Indigenous Religion, Resistance, and Dissent in Colonial Mexico”.

Hofstra University’s Cultural Center will welcome Dr. David Tavarez, associate professor and chair of anthropology at Vassar College to discuss his book Invisible Wars: Indigenous Religion, Resistance and Dissent in Colonial Mexico.  The event will be held on Monday, February 23 at 4:30 pm in the Guthart Cultural Center Theater, Axinn Library.

As an historian, linguistic anthropologist and author, Dr. David Tavarez will offer a valuable perspective and insight into Colonial Mexico. The discussion will focus on colonial intellectual exchanges, while exploring evangelization and linguistics. The event will feature a Q&A with the audience and Dr. Tavarez.
