WRHU Nominated for mtvU Woodie Award

WRHU 88.7 FM Radio Hofstra University has been nominated for a 2015 mtvU Woodie Award for best college radio station. A total of 10 colleges and universities will compete for the win.

Every year, MTV’s college network honors the best in music based on fan votes in seven categories, including artist of the year, best video, cover song, artist to watch, and college radio.

Voting is taking place at Woodies.MTV.com until March 10, and mtvU will announce the winners during a live broadcast on Friday, March 20 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

WRHU has been previously nominated for three MTVU Woodies in 2009, 2011, and 2012; it is ranked the best college radio station in the nation by The Princeton Review and won a Marconi Award as best non-commercial radio station of the year by the National Association of Broadcasters.

The Hofstra radio station broadcasts a wide range of content including news, sports, and music with the use of technologically advanced studios in the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication.
