Today we remember former New York Governor Mario Cuomo, the longest serving Democratic governor in modern New York history. Gov. Mario Cuomo visited Hofstra several times, including in October 2008 when he discussed the agenda for the next president as part of the Educate ’08 series that preceded the University’s hosting the third and final presidential debate on Oct. 15, 2008. Cuomo’s legacy has left a mark on our campus, as it has left a mark on the state and the nation.
