Dr. Iska Alter on Shakespeare in Nazi Germany

On Saturday, October 18, 2014, Dr. Iska Alter, professor emerita of English, will  participate in  Fairleigh Dickinson University’s 22nd annual Shakespeare Colloquium, titled “Shakespeare Bad and Shakespeare Wrong: Rethinking the Shakespearean.” Dr. Alter and other scholars will talks about what can be learned by “bad” and “wrong” Shakespeare in performance and in scholarship – and what the differences are. Dr. Alter will focus her talk on how and why Shakespeare was produced in Nazi Germany.
