In its first exhibit of the fall 2014 semester, the student-run FORM Gallery presents O Newton! Vast and Profound Genius by Daniel Jones. Jones, a Hofstra senior from Clinton, NJ, is majoring in Fine Arts with a concentration in painting.
O Newton! Vast and Profound Genius features oil paintings and drawings of the human body inspired by Jim Dine, Victor Pesce, Boullée and Phillip Guston. Jones says, “A hard line of sexuality runs throughout these paintings and expresses an intersection of feminism and psychology with painting.”
O Newton! Vast and Profound Genius runs through Wednesday, September 10.
The FORM Gallery is located on the first floor of Calkins Hall, South Campus. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information call the Department of Fine Arts Design and Art History at 516-463-5474.
