WRHU, Radio Hofstra University (88.7 FM), the official home for Hofstra sports, will host its annual Fall Sports Preview Show this Sunday starting at 9 p.m.
WRHU, recently named the top college radio station in the United States by The Princeton Review, hosts preview shows three times a year in advance of each season on the Pride athletic calendar.
The preview show can be heard worldwide via WRHU.org and locally on 88.7 FM. The show will air from 9 p.m. – 2 a.m.
This Sunday’s show will feature previews of the women’s soccer, men’s soccer, field hockey and volleyball teams. These previews will all include interviews with each program’s head coach, along with student-athletes from each squad. In addition, Hofstra Vice President and Director of Athletics Jeffrey A. Hathaway will be interviewed to give his impressions on the upcoming fall seasons.
The show will air directly after “The Locker Room” (TLR), the weekly sports show on WRHU that recaps the week that was and looks ahead to the upcoming week in Hofstra Athletics. TLR airs every Sunday from 8-9 p.m. on WRHU.
The preview show gets underway with women’s soccer from 9-10 p.m. In addition to the WRHU broadcasters discussing the team, the hour will also feature interviews with Head Coach Simon Riddiough and student-athletes Lulu Echeverry and Sam Scolarici.
Next up will be the men’s soccer hour from 10-11 p.m. with Head Coach Richard Nuttall and student-athletes Maid Memic and Rory Murphy.
The 11 p.m. hour features the Pride Volleyball team, including interviews with Head Coach Emily Mansur and student-athletes Sophia Black and Kelsie Wills.
From 12-1 a.m. the focus turns to the Hofstra Field Hockey team. Interviews with Head Coach Kathy De Angelis and student-athletes Jonel Boileau and Stella Schoen can be heard during that hour as well.
The final hour of the show will discuss all the fall sports teams with the entire WRHU Sports staff.
