Hofstra President Stuart Rabinowitz and Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Herman Berliner honored scholars Gillian Sobocinski and Loretta Grief Barbaro earlier today for achieving the highest grade-point averages in their December 2013 graduating class. Each earned a cumulative GPA of 3.97 during their time at Hofstra.
Sobocinski (above, second from left), of Huntington Station, NY, graduated as a music education major and is currently considering graduate school. She hopes to become a music teacher in the K-12 grades.
Barbaro, of Wantagh, NY, was an accounting major in the bachelor of business administration program. She is now enrolled in Hofstra’s Master of Science program in taxation, and hopes to earn her CPA as well.
