WRHU Wins Associated Press Broadcasting Awards

Two entries from WRHU 88.7 FM Radio Hofstra University have won awards in the college category of the New York State Associated Press Association annual awards competition:

  • “Singing for Autism,” Shannan Ferry’14, WRHU, Hofstra University  won special mention for the Chris Ulanowski Memorial Award for Best News Story.
  •  Newsline Oct. 29, 2013 – Rob Joyce’14, Rich DeKorte’16, Mark Prussin’14, Briana Smith’16, WRHU, Hofstra University – won special mention for the Bill Leaf Memorial Award for Best Regularly Scheduled Local News Program.

The awards, which honor the best in television and radio work during 2013, were announced at a banquet on Saturday, May 31 in Saratoga Springs, NY.   Chuck Todd, political director for NBC News, served as keynote speaker.
