Gary Alan Miller, a career counseling and academic advisement administrator with more than two decades of experience, has been tapped as Hofstra’s new Executive Director of the Career Center.
Miller comes to Hofstra from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he served in various roles including assistant director of career services and senior assistant dean of the academic advising program. Miller also is a co-founder of the Innovation Forum for Career Services, which sponsors training events for career service professionals.
In addition to his time at UNC, Miller was a senior counselor and acting director of the Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University, and senior counselor and assistant director of the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington in Seattle.
He earned a bachelor of science in mass communication from Middle Tennessee State University and a master of science in social foundations of education from Georgia State.
