Hofstra Alumna Headlines Two Events for Job Hunters

Emily Miethner ’11, founder and president of, will be on campus April 29 to present a workshop “From Paper to In Person: How to Stand Out in the Job Hunt” and the following day has lined up a seminar in New York City, “Why You Need a Website & How to Get Started.”

emily poster“From Paper to Person: How to Stand Out in the Job Hunt” is presented by Hofstra’s chapter of Zeta Phi Eta, the national honor society of communication arts and sciences. This talk will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at room 205 Breslin Hall.

Participants are encouraged to bring a lap top to the hands-on workshop, “Why You Need a Website …”, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30. Location is The Wix Lounge, 235 West 23rd St. in Manhattan. Miethner will share quick and actionable social media tips for quickly upgrading your overall online presence. is the new name for NY Creative Interns, an organization Miethner helped found in 2010, to help college students connect with internship and job opportunities.
