On Friday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. the Hofstra Chorale and Chamber Choir will perform their annual spring concert in the Cathedral of the Incarnation, located at 50 Cathedral Avenue in Garden City. The program, titled “Longings, Journeys & Obsessions in Poetry & Song,” features an eclectic selection of unaccompanied ensemble music for choir that spans the gamut from Renaissance motet to Aboriginal overtone singing; from English song to traditional Iroquois chant; and from traditional folk song to the most innovative 21st century re-imaginings of choral music.
Tickets are $10 general admission; $8 senior citizen (over 65) or matriculated non-Hofstra student with ID. Members of the Hofstra community (current faculty, staff and students) receive two free tickets upon presentation of a current HofstraCard. For tickets and information, please call 516-463-5497. Tickets will also be sold at the door. For more information on the Department of Music’s large and small ensembles, click HERE.
