Hofstra University’s FORM Student Gallery in Calkins Hall, South Campus, presents an exhibition of acrylic paintings titled Kaleidoscope: An observation of beautiful forms by Kerry Ann Castoria ’14. Catoria, who hails from East Williston, NY, is a fine arts major, with a concentration in painting. She also has a minor in psychology.
Castoria says she is influenced by artists such as Diego Gravinese, Marta Penter, Steve Smith and Lari Pittman. She says, “The works featured in Kaleidoscope play with distortion, deformation and defacement while retaining an element of glamour.”
Kaleidoscope runs through Thursday, April 17. There will be a closing reception at 6 p.m. that day.
Admission is free and open to the public. Viewing hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information call the Department of Fine Arts Design and Art History at 516-463-5474.
