A performance of Persian mystic songs for the festivity Nowruz will be performed at The Helene Fortunoff Theater, Monroe Lecture Hall, South Campus, on Thursday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. This event is presented by the Department of Music and the D’Addario Music Appreciation Initiative.
Nowruz is a celebration of the Iranian New Year on March 21. Tomorrow night’s repertoire is presented by Sepideh Raissadat, an internationally acclaimed star of Persian classical music. She gained international attention being the first female vocalist to have a solo public performance in Iran, after the 1979 revolution.
Members of the Hofstra community receive two free tickets upon presentation of a current HofstraCard. Tickets are $8 general admission; $6 senior citizen (over 65) or matriculated non-Hofstra student with ID.
