Pride To Host Military Appreciation Day February 8

The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will host Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, February 8 as the Pride take on UNCW in a 7 p.m. contest.

All active and retired military personnel are invited to attend the game for free and receive up to three additional complimentary tickets. In addition, all military personnel will receive a free fountain beverage and either a hot dog or pretzel. To reserve your tickets, call the Hofstra Athletics Ticket Office at (516) HOF-TIXX (463-8499).

Fans that make a donation of $5 to benefit Operation Homefront Tri-State will receive a free limited edition Hofstra Pride Military Appreciation camouflage t-shirt with the purchase of a game ticket. Tickets and shirts can be purchased online or by calling the Hofstra Athletics Ticket Office at (516) HOF-TIXX (463-8499). Shirt supply and sizes are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Shirts will be mailed out for all purchases made before January 31. Starting February 1, shirts will need to be picked up at the game along with game tickets at will call.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Operation Homefront was formed in February 2002. It was developed to support the families of deployed service members immediately following 9/11. Operation Homefront is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, and has evolved into a major nonprofit. The organization currently provides services to military families across the nation with 23 locations serving 43 states. The national office handles cases in states that do not have their own local offices. The majority of our clients are the lowest-paid service members, the E-1 through E-6 enlisted ranks.
