The Hofstra University Department of Athletics is excited to announce that three members of the department will attend the upcoming 2013 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum in Providence, Rhode Island from November 7-10.

This prestigious event will be attended by Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Services and Life Skills Development James Lally, along with men’s tennis student-athlete Ari Richman and women’s cross country student-athlete Becky Celorio.

This yearly event takes student-athletes and administrators through workshops on topics such as leadership development, service and individual behaviors and values.

“Hofstra University is extremely grateful to the NCAA for hosting their leadership forum each year and for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of what will be a wonderful event,” commented Lally. “Our student-athletes at Hofstra are dedicated to gaining a better understanding of how student-athletes can be impactful in their schools and communities and are anxious to take as much from this experience as they can.”

“We are very excited to participate in the NCAA Leadership Forum and learn different ways to enhance the student-athlete experience,” stated Richman. “We look forward to a great learning experience with other student-athletes from various institutions.”

The Leadership Forum is an educational and engaging opportunity for student-athletes, coaches and administrators to engage a diverse and dynamic representation of student-athletes, coaches, faculty and administrators and provide pertinent and customized sessions that will enhance personal awareness and leadership skills needed to impact student-athlete development at the campus and conference level, and beyond the collegiate realm.
