Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY … Celebrate Italy’s cultural and culinary influence on America at one of the largest and most beautiful outdoor festivals on Long Island when Hofstra University hosts the 21st Annual Italian Experience on Sunday, September 15, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will take place outdoors, rain or shine, on the South Campus.
The Italian Experience Festival has grown to be a popular Long Island tradition. As in the past, the Italian Experience features a full itinerary of crafts, live entertainment, children’s activities and food.
New to the Festival’s entertainment lineup is entertainer, singer and percussionist John Ciotta, who is known for wowing audiences with songs of Italy past and present. Returning acts include the Long Island Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra; “Pop-era,” featuring members of The Bronx Opera Company; Katie’s Puppets; Gary the Magician; the Italian-American Poets and Writers Piazza; and The San Remo Duo.
Admission is $7; $5 for senior citizens; children under 12 are admitted free. Hofstra students, faculty, and staff are admitted free upon presentation of a current Hofstra Card.
