Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY … Hofstra University presents the 15th Annual Irish Festival on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Mack Physical Education Center, located on the University’s North Campus.
The Irish Festival celebrates the Irish gifts of music, food and culture to America. There will be a number of music and dance performances throughout the day, as well activities for children, more than 50 craft vendors and authentic Irish food.
New to the 2013 entertainment lineup is The Tommy Mulvihill Band, performing classic Irish music. Returning performers include:
• Guest Master of Ceremonies Tony Jackson (WRHU, 88.7FM, Hofstra University)
• The Black Velvet Band – performing Irish classics
• The Hirten Family Irish Dancers – a long time staple of the Hofstra Irish Festival
• Katie’s Puppets – a creative, colorful and musical puppet show for children
Admission to the 15th Annual Irish Festival is $7 and $5 for senior citizens (65 and older). Children under 12 are free. Members of the Hofstra community also receive one free admission upon presentation of a current HofstraCard.
