A Boo-tiful Halloween at Hofstra’s Child Care Institute

Disney princesses, superheroes, ruby slipper-wearing Dorothys, firefighters, cuddly animals and even a mini-Hillary Clinton showed up to the Halloween party of the Diane Lindner-Goldberg Child Care Institute (CCI) at the Joan and Arnold Saltzman Community Services Center. Hofstra mascots Kate and Willy made a surprise appearance, and the Hofstra Pep Band got little feet moving. Every year CCI hosts a Halloween parade on the playground for the children and their picture-taking family members.

CCI focuses on the child’s total development – social, emotional, cognitive and physical. The program offers developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 8 weeks to 5 years, providing opportunities for hands-on, integrated learning. CCI has been reaccredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the leading organization of early childhood professionals. Nationwide, only 8 percent of all preschools and other early childhood programs are NAEYC-accredited.
